We will be working hard. There will be class novels as well as independent novels. It is very important that your child reads EVERY NIGHT. I know that there are some students who don't like to read, but studies have shown over and over the importance of this. In addition, if they are not reading nightly they will not be able to keep up with the classwork.
About the Teacher
So, let me tell you a little about me. I graduated from the College of Mount St. Joseph and got married the same summer. When I went to college I thought I would only teach in the primary grades. So, I started as a Kindergarten teacher. God had other plans for my second job. I went looking for a new Kindergarten position and ended being called to teach junior high Language Arts. I was petrified the first day. By the end of that day I was in love and it just got better from there. I love the challenge, the exchange of ideas, the subject material. After a few years there I decided to stay home. My husband, Brian, and I have three children. Jacob is 14 and hates school. Samantha is 10 and can't wait for school to start. Katie is off to first grade. They have taught me so much that will make me a better teacher. That brings us to today.
